Marine Engineer for Surveyor and Adjuster
Reporting to the head of Marine Cargo Department, the Marine Surveyor & Adjuster investigates insurance claims on behalf of the insurer. They conduct on-site surveys and review supporting documents of the damaged object to obtain all necessary facts once a claim is logged.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations on hull and machinery damages as well as cargo damages.
- Attend on cargo, hull and damage surveys as required.
- Prepare attendance advice, preliminary reports, and final survey/adjustment reports in a timely manner in accordance with the SOP.
- Attend to risk management surveys if required and ensure reports are issued in a timely manner in accordance with the SOP.
- Be available to attend surveys outside working hours and on weekends (public holidays) as required, ensuring movements are reported to the office via text or email daily.
Requirements:
- Marine Engineer (min. ATT-II) qualification from STIP (Merchant Marine Higher Education).
- At least 2 years' experience as a Second or First Engineer onboard a vessel.
- Highly proficient in English.
- Prepared to work as a team, willing to travel throughout Indonesia, particularly in remote areas, and work flexible hours.
- Computer literate, able to work under tight deadlines, and adapt to both desk-bound and remote working schemes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self-motivated, dynamic, and proactive.
Home base: Jakarta.
Mix between desk-bound and remote working.
