Marine Engineer | Marine & Shipbuilding Projects (New Build & Retrofit)

LTH-Baas is expanding its team in Genoa and is looking for an Marine Engineer to join our Business Unit, contributing to both new build and retrofit shipbuilding projects across a variety of vessel types.

Key Responsibilities
As an Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of HVAC systems within marine projects, working across both engineering and site phases:
Design and technical development of HVAC and piping systems
Perform thermal load calculations and equipment sizing (AHUs, chillers, fans, piping)
Manage air and hydronic system balancing
Prepare P& IDs, layouts, and technical documentation
Support installation, commissioning, and sea trials
Coordinate with internal teams, shipyards, and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with project specifications and marine standards
Requirements
Degree in Naval Engineering
2–5 years of experience in the marine or HVAC sector (at least 1 year in HVAC systems)
Solid understanding of thermodynamics and fluid systems
Experience with CAD tools (e.g. Auto CAD, Micro Station, AVEVA, CADMATIC Marine)
Professional working proficiency in English and Italian
Strong teamwork and ability to manage technical complexity

Experience with HVAC calculations and system sizing
Familiarity with P& IDs and technical documentation
Exposure to commissioning, start-up, or sea trials
