Looking to take ownership of HVAC systems in complex marine projects, from design to commissioning?

LTH-Baas is expanding its team in Genoa and is looking for an Marine Engineer to join our Business Unit, contributing to both new build and retrofit shipbuilding projects across a variety of vessel types.

Key Responsibilities

As an Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of HVAC systems within marine projects, working across both engineering and site phases:

  • Design and technical development of HVAC and piping systems
  • Perform thermal load calculations and equipment sizing (AHUs, chillers, fans, piping)
  • Manage air and hydronic system balancing
  • Prepare P&IDs, layouts, and technical documentation
  • Support installation, commissioning, and sea trials
  • Coordinate with internal teams, shipyards, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and marine standards

Requirements

  • Degree in Naval Engineering
  • 2–5 years of experience in the marine or HVAC sector (at least 1 year in HVAC systems)
  • Solid understanding of thermodynamics and fluid systems
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, AVEVA, CADMATIC Marine)
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Italian
  • Strong teamwork and ability to manage technical complexity

Nice to Have

  • Experience with HVAC calculations and system sizing
  • Familiarity with P&IDs and technical documentation
  • Exposure to commissioning, start-up, or sea trials
