Yacht Engineer Opportunities

The role of a Yacht New Build Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the owner's technical requirements are met throughout the design, construction, outfitting, and commissioning phases of a new-build yacht project.

Our ideal candidate will provide technical expertise and engineering oversight, collaborating with shipyards, naval architects, designers, contractors, and classification societies to ensure all engineering systems and installations meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and compliance.

  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and system layouts for compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor shipyard construction activities to ensure correct engineering practices and quality standards are applied.
  • Provide technical input during design reviews, material selections, and equipment approvals.

The engineer will also be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Project Manager in evaluating engineering-related risks, budgets, and schedules.
  • Supporting coordination between mechanical, electrical, HVAC, propulsion, and other technical disciplines.
  • Tracking and reporting engineering progress, highlighting potential issues and proposing solutions.

This position requires a degree or equivalent qualification in Marine Engineering, Chief Unlimited, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline and proven experience (5–7+ years) in yacht or ship new build projects, refits, or shipyard engineering roles.

Candidates must have strong knowledge of yacht systems, familiarity with class and flag requirements and international maritime regulations, and flexibility to travel extensively and work on-site at shipyards worldwide.

This opportunity offers an excellent chance to work on cutting-edge yacht projects that push the boundaries of design and innovation.
