The Hairdresser and/or Barber performs professional cuts, styles, colouring services, and therapeutic hair and scalp treatments. The barber, in addition, performs professional men’s grooming services. The ideal candidate must possess and maintain knowledge of current hairstyles and fashion trends, effectively interpreting our guest’s image desires whilst providing them with a relaxing environment that exceeds their expectations. Hairdressers must possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills as well as be willing to train in our specific hair and scalp service offerings. Excellent communication skills are required, and the candidate must be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness and beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests.


Qualifications:
- Completed hairdressing training at a full-time college or a three-year apprenticeship
- Qualified in ladies’ hairdressing and confident with gentlemen’s hairdressing
- All Caribbean nationalities must have the NCTVET (government) certificate/diploma
- Strong confident blow-drying skills on hair of all types (especially blow drying straight without straighteners) in a timely manner
- Good cutting skills and ability to adapt to guests’ style requirements
- Colour trained (L’oreal trained ideal)
- Internationally accepted qualification from a recognized training school or equivalent to level 3
- Core curriculum: shampoo and conditioner application, cutting techniques, colouring techniques, blow dry, style and dress short, medium, and long hair, setting a range of hair types, health & safety, handling chemicals, hygiene, personal presentation, lifestyle advice, client care


Visa Requirement:
- Eligible for a C1D visa to work on a Cruise Ship, valid for a minimum of 12 months
