Key Responsibilities
- The 1st Commis Chef is responsible for assisting the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie in producing and delivering the best culinary experience at sea.
- The role requires a strong understanding of international cuisine, recipes and culinary processes and food safety practices.
- Job responsibilities include adhering to company recipes, daily production schedules, demonstrating an ongoing understanding of the ingredient consumption required for daily production to minimize food waste during production.
- The role also requires demonstrating commitment to safety, compliance with international regulations and Company standards, and upholding the company's values while maintaining professional relationships, and promoting a harassment-free environment.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- At least 1 to 2 year of prior work experience in a culinary environment as Commis Chef or similar roles.
- Culinary related education (Preferred).
- Knowledge of basic food preparation, presentation, and preservation.
- Basic knowledge of Public Health, Food Safety and Sanitation regulations and procedures.
- Ability to organize and complete work by deadlines.
- Good English language skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a large multinational environment.
