As a "Director Portugal Operation" you will be responsible for overseeing the Portuguese operation and
ensuring a smooth and safe environment. Reporting directly to the Vice President of River
Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring strict adherence to our company's standards
of excellence, safety protocols, and operational objectives while maintaining budgetary
considerations.
Requirements
• Ideally, possess a background in a Corporate Position of any River Cruise Company
demonstrating a deep understanding of office and navigational principles and maritime
regulations.
• Have 3-5 years of experience in the river cruise industry in a comparable managerial
position, with a proven track record of success in management leadership.
• Strong administrative background & knowledge of MS Office
• Organized, flexible, positive, open-minded, excellent team player, able to work under
pressure.
• Languages: Portuguese & English mandatory
Operational Excellence:
Ensure that all vessels under management comply with Scenic Group's cost, safety,
quality, operational objectives, policies, and budgets. Monitor and optimize vessel costs,
safety measures, quality standards, and operational performance, including officer and
crew performance.
Safety and Quality Assurance:
Provide invaluable input for developing, maintaining, and enhancing all safety and
quality documentation, including issuing Ship Circulars. Implement rigorous safety and
quality assurance measures to safeguard the well-being of passengers, crew, and
assets.
Leadership and Training:
Lead, instruct, and supervise the office employee in managing the assigned vessels.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the nautical
department. Identify training needs and provide internal or external training programs to
enhance the skills of nautical staff.
Strategic Planning:
Foster a cohesive, high-performing team culture built on mutual respect, trust, and
accountability.
