Your Purpose
The Clearance Officer manages ship’s clearance operations in line with local and Explora Journeys requirements. Maintains accurate Guest documentation and information to ensure the ship is granted a timely and compliant clearance in port and works diplomatically with all shoreside authorities. Manages collection of documentation from Guests as per local requirements.
Your Impact
• Responsible for all Immigration, Customs and Visa matters, ship certificates and other documentation that relate to Port Clearances.
• Primary point of contact with port agencies and local authorities for all pre-arrival, arrival, departure and en-route clearances.
• Primary point of contact for embarkation clearance. This includes document screening, local check-in staff, port terminal coordination.
• Primary point of contact for disembarkation clearance. This includes guest inspections and entry requirements.
• Liaise with People Services for compliancy with arrival, departure, embarkation and disembarkation matters related to hosts.
• To assist with financial and guest services tasks as needed.
• Required to treat guests sensitive data according to the Standard Procedures.
Your Journey So Far
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position in a luxury, upscale cruise line.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills.
• Problem solving skills. Ability to work independently.
• Has a strong understanding of socio-cultural aspects on worldwide itineraries.
• Proficient in Computers and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Fidelio/Otalio Cruise System and POS systems is an advantage.
• Fluent English. Knowledge of any other European languages is advantageous.
Your Essentials
• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.
