Assistant Restaurant Manager

Requirements:
  • Min. 2 years’ experience as an assistant restaurant manager or as a senior waiter
  • Experience in a 4* or 5* operations (hotel or cruise ships)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Computer skills - MS Office
  • Experience in ordering and inventory
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Self-organized, disciplined, and reliable
  • Stress tolerant
  • Familiar with a multicultural working environment
  • Outgoing personality
  • Able to conduct trainings

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Relieve the restaurant manager during any period of absence
  • Ensure and provide professional and courteous service (within the department)
  • Active involvement in the daily operations and assist station-service when required
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with training sessions
  • Evaluate the restaurant team regularly and provide feedback to the restaurant manager, including needed disciplinary actions
  • Maintain good knowledge of the food and beverage menu
  • Ensure proper stock handling and strive to reach cost targets
  • Keep a record/list of breakage and damage, monitor the costs and notify the restaurant manager on regular basis
  • Acknowledge guest complaints and report them to the restaurant manager
  • Keeping a record of breaking list and monitoring amount of breakage
  • Ensure and maintain cleanliness in accordance with the HACCP regulations
  • Observe slow running stock items and expiration control of restaurant products
  • Assist with monthly inventories and purchase orders
  • Ensure correct handling of all equipment and machinery
  • Duly report any potential safety hazards

Side Tasks:
  • Assisting other departments as per supervisor's instructions
  • Perform other duties when instructed, e.g. luggage service, loading, and garbage off-loading
  • Participate in all safety drills and ensure solid knowledge of designated Safety role
